Trace Line Cut

I am working with some cross sections that are 3D polylines that have been drawn from survey points in CAD. The line is not perfectly straight. I use Trace Line Cut to create a cross section using the 3D polyline as the elevation layer. The cross section is created correctly and matches the 3D polyline. When I define the overbank stations and flow lengths the cross section is extruded moving nodes to new locations. The first few nodes/points on the cross section remain in the correct location, but as you move along the cross section the points move.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have to get a copy of the AutoCAD drawing file in order to see why this is occurring. You can either email me the file (if it is less than 10 mbytes) or upload to our FTP site. If you upload the file, make certain you let me know that you have posted it.
