You would have to use the RiverCAD Terrain Module (or your AutoCAD terrain modeling package, such as Land Desktop or Civil 3D) to update the terrain. However, the channel improvement is simply an edit of the HEC-RAS/HEC-2 cross section data, and has no real link to where the cross section is cut.
One option, in order to determine where the channel improvements lies on the topo map, is to run a small base flow (so that that edge of water lies within the channel improvement), and then plot a "Straight Edge of Water". You can then see where the channel improvement lies on the topo map, and then use that to determine where to place cut lines in your terrain data.
