Flow Distribution

I would like to show the velocities of the flow distribution graphically for each cross section on the cross section grids. Could you please explain how to do this in RiverCAD using the HEC-RES interface? Thanks.

In our HEC-RAS Scenario Manager, you can view a cross section table that details the flow distribution. Select Output | Cross Section Tables. Then, from the HEC-RAS Scenario Manager, select Tables | Flow Distribution.

Note, however, that you first need to define the number of flow slices for the left overbank, channel, and right overbank in the Cross Section Description dialog, as well as then rerun the simulation. Also, you can have a maximum of 45 flow slices defined at a cross section.

Thanks for the response. I found the velocities in the flow distribution tables. However, I would like to show that information graphically on the cross sections in RiverCAD. I was told it cannot be done in RiverCAD, but if I export the project file and open it in HEC-RAS, it will show the velocity distribution in each cross section (which it does) and I just wanted to double check. It would be much easier if I could do everything in RiverCAD instead of switching back and forth. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, AutoCAD places some limits on what we can display. As such, we cannot display the velocity distribution on the cross section view like HEC-RAS does. However, as you stated, you can export your model to HEC-RAS and display the velocity distribution there.
