Dem Module for RMS Version 3.5

Dear Support,
In an effort to find a work around solution, I have used the DEM module
to bring in topo data from an Arc/INFO cover.
Everything seems to work okay, however, I wasn't really impressed
with the quality of the results. In example, The topo data contains a
clearly define levee structure. On the cross sections in RMS, this levee
loses much of its definition in several places.
Now then, it is probable that the lack of quality could be me own fault,
out of ignorance. Except that, I have no help file information or hard copy
manual information to lead me out of my ignorance.
So, the point of this message is to ask, Got Any Info about the DEM
module I can get ahold of? It doesn't have to be blue ribbon, spell
checked, Pope blessed technical documentation. I just need something
that explains the DEM module, what smoothing is about, and the like.
I'd appreciate whatever you can spare. Thanks for your help. Terry
