Renumbering cross-sections

My question was how to integrate additional x-sections into a RMS autocad drawing that already has x-sections. I can put them in and I think they are doing alright but when I try to renumber by river miles the first set of xsections are numbered and then it numbers the x-sections that I just inputted. It is very frustrating. Do you know how to fix this or is it a matter of redrawing all of the x-sections in order? If it would be easier I could call you and talk to you in person. Thank you

Re: Renumbering cross-sections

Dear Jason Mace :

Note that the cross-sections are renumbered, based upon the sequential order that they are in. In addition, renumbering of cross-sections only happens for the current metajob. Perhaps the other cross-sections belong to a different metajob?

Another problem that can occur is if you manually modify the cross- section data or grids manually. If you do that, you can damage the database that is within AutoCAD, rendering it so we cannot change the cross-section ID.

If the cross-sections are in sequential order, are of the same metajob, and the data is intact, then the Renumber Cross-Section ID command should work without any problems.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Re: Renumbering cross-sections

Chris,

That is my problem. Newer cross sections have been added into the current metajob. Is it possible to alter the sequential numbering of the xsections? They are all in the same metajob and I have not changed any of the grids or data manually. If you want I can call you so we can communicate better.

Re: Renumbering cross sections

Dear Jason :

This is fairly easy to fix. Select Input | Cross-Sections | Edit Cross-Section Grid. This will display the Edit Cross-Section Grid dialog box. You can then change the cross-section ID.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
