2D/3D Map Scale in RCAD

Dear Chris:

Here is my simple question. In configuring RCAD, I'm not sure if I should enter 3.281 in the 2D/3D field in the Topo Map Configuration. My contour map is in UTM NAD83 and computing units is in English.

I don't quite understand terms such as drawing unit, scaling factor, and map scale.

Thanks for your help!

Re: 2D/3D Map Scale in RCAD

Dear Shuhai Zheng :

Note that you must have the contour data converted to the correct unit base prior to working with it in RiverCAD. However, RiverCAD's CAD Interface has some functions to "scale" the contour data prior to using it with HEC-2 and HEC-RAS. From the CAD Drafting Module, select Modify | Scale. However, this simply modifies the X and Y coordinates. It does not scale the Z coordinate.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
