Re: Defining an additional profile

Dear James :

To define an additional discharge, select Reach | Profile Description. You can define
up to 15 discharges for HEC-RAS to run.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact
me again.

Defining an additional profile

Chris:

When I want to create a new profile for a HEC-RAS model. Do I select the cross-sections at which the flow changes occur and use the profile adjustment option to insert the flow values. Is there another way?

Dear James :

You question does not make sense. Can you rephrase it?

Defining an additional profile

How do I use this to determine flows at multiple cross-sections within the same reach and profile.

RE: Defining an additional profile

Dear James :

The Profile Description dialog box allows you to define 15 profiles at the downstream boundary of the model (or upstream boundary of the model if performing a supercritical flow model).

You can select any cross-section where you want to define a profile adjustment, and select Input | Profile Adjustment. You can define what the flow changes to upstream of that cross-section.

If you have more than 15 profiles to define, then you need to copy the model to another river reach. You can do that by exporting out the model and then re-importing the model into another river reach.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

It appears that the Reach | Profile Description only allows you to specify a single flow rate. I have 21 flow changes for this model. How do I insert these 21 flow changes into RMS without importing a new HEC-RAS model with the proper flows?
