Re: Locking up registering Output Viewer DLL

Dear David :

1. If the installation process freezes with a message "Registering Outviewer DLLs...", then terminate the installation program.
2. Rerun the installation program. This time, uncheck the "HEC-RAS" module and install the program into the same directory. The "Registering Outviewer DLLs..." is the last step in the HEC-RAS module installation so all the necessary files should have been installed.
3. After the installation is complete, try running the Outview.exe and see if it runs. If it runs ok, everything should be fine.

We are looking into why this problem is occurring. I have had one other person report this.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Sincerely,

Locking up registering Output Viewer DLL

howdy,
continue to get stuck at about 16% with a dialogue box msg "registering output viewer dlls". the cpu goes to 99% for install.exe. doesn't seem to matter whether i'm trying to install for r14 or r2000, or what dir/drive i'm installing to. was able to install to w95 system.
any ideas?

Re: Locking up registering Output Viewer DLL

I'm having the same problem!

Following your instructions doesn't seem to help, it still locks up at "Registering Ouput Viewers DLLs"

To abort the installation I have to go to taskmanager and end the process, a rather draconian measure.

Running the Outview.exe produces the error "Error loading type library/DLL"

Terence:

Note that there was a problem with the installation program and certain versions of Windows. This has been corrected for quite some time (from what I remember).

You can download the latest version of RMS or RiverCAD from our web site and install with that. Should not have the problem that you ran into.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
