Equivalent Time of Concentration

I have a large basin that is divided into many smaller sub-basins and a piped drainage network that discharges at a single outfall. (A typical subdivision drainage model).

Is there a way to determine (from the Stormnet model) an equivalent or calculated time of concentration for the entire basin? What is the modeled flow time from the uppermost point to the outfall?

I suppose I could look at the longest run and do the math based on the max velocity in each link using 2 yr storm plus the Tc for the upper basin....or maybe that does not work. Any thoughts?

Re: Equivalent Time of Concentration

Hi Mitchell,

Yes, you could calculate the TOC of the entire basin as you suggested in your posting. That solution does work.

Also, we are considering to add the functionality to calculate the system TOC in our StormNET very soon.

Thanks,
