AutoCAD Drawings with photo backgrounds

I seem to have trouble importing AutoCAD drawings that include X-referenced (attached) aerial photographs as drawing backgrounds. It seems that I can bring in the line work or the attached photo, but not both at the same time. I understand that currently StormNET can support only one imported background file at a time, but there are times we really need both CAD line work on a photobackground. I am hopefull that a single CAD file may be able to fool StormNET into showing both at the same time. What do you suggest or what can you do to help with this?

Re: AutoCAD Drawings with photo backgrounds

Hi,

I could successfully import one AutoCAD drawing file (DWG) which includes an aerial photograph attached.

I attached the aerial photograph to the AutoCAD drawing from the menu "Insert/ Raster Image" in AutoCAD and saved that drawing. After that I imported the saved DWG file in StormNET and StormNET imported the new DWG file (with attached aerial photo) successfully.

Please put both the DWG file and the aerial photograph in the same location (folder) to import into the StormNET.

If you have any questions please contact us.

Thanks,

Re: AutoCAD Drawings with photo backgrounds

Thanks, with the photo file referenced in the same directory both linework and photo display as desired.

A way of allowing files to be referenced from other directories would be a nice improvement in the future.
