High Tailwater

I am running HGL calcs for a storm sewer draining into a wet detention pond. The end section into the pond is submerged, which is reflected in the fixed tailwater elevation I've inputted boundary conditions of the outfall node. (The pond is not included in the model)

Despite the tailwater being set above the crown of the pipe (93.00'), the profile plot is showing the HGL much lower (91.10') after rerunning the analysis. (see attached)

Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong, or limitations of the program?

Re: High Tailwater

Hi,

The profile plot should show the HGL line at the outfall equals to the fixed tailwater elevation defined at the outfall of your project.

But please make sure you are running "Link Routing Method" as "Hydrodynamic". If you are running "Kinematic Wave" as your link routing method then it won't reflect in the profile plot.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Thanks,
