import data from AutoCAD?

Is it possible to import structures from autocad so it doesn't have to be done manually or do we have to create every structure one by one? i know you can put the background image just wondering about importing like a block or something.

Thanks in advance.

Re: import data from AutoCAD?

Ben:

If your data is in Land Desktop or Civil3D, then StormNET can directly import this data using LandXML. Simply export your sewer network out from AutoCAD using the Export LandXML command. Then, in StormNET select File | Import | LandXML and StormNET will pull everything in. It will read your pipe inverts, pipe diameters, pipe lengths, manhole rim elevations, manhole sump elevations, subbasin areas, etc.

Please let me know if you have any difficulty with this.

Re: import data from AutoCAD?

thanks for the info. That is good news and bad. the drawing we got is from another company and they don't have land desktop so looks like i either get to create tehm in cad & transfer over or just create them in StormNET. Again, thanks for the info.
