pipes using max/total depth ratio = 1

Most of the pipes in my system as defaulting to a Max/Total depth ratio = 1, even when the capacity of the pipe is greater than the flow. What is causing this?

There are two check ratios output by StormNET for links (pipes and channels).

- Ratio of Maximum Flow to Design Flow
- Ratio of Maximum Flow Depth to Total Depth

The Maximum Flow is the peak flow that is experienced in the pipe during the simulation. The Design Flow is the maximum flow that the pipe can handle for non-pressurized flow conditions (about 95% full). The Total Depth is the total height of the element (i.e., pipe diameter).

In your case, there is a backwater condition downstream of the pipe that is causing the pipe to become surcharged.
