exporting to dxf contains very little information

hello everyone.
i am trying to export some network i have completed in stormNET.
however, the information provided in the exported dxf file is inadequate.
The is a complete lack of labeling for the subbasin, junction and link elements on the file...

is there any solution to that

Thank you for your help

Presently, StormNET does not export this information to a DXF file. What I do is manually label this information in AutoCAD. However, I will bring this up with the software development team.

We are working on the ability to print the watershed to a specific scale. You can then "turn on" subbasin labels, etc. Perhaps this will work for you when it is available.

well re labeling the whole network is impossible its huge...

one thing that i noticed is that the 'label' elements are exported in the dxf file... it might be easier to automate a process that generates label elements out of the ID's of the link, junction and subbasin properties? just a thought...

as for printing directly in scale through some plotter, it will be an helpful addition, but it is usually the case that we need to attach some sort of general label to the drawing.. something that states the company, the scale of the drawing the person / firm that the drawing was made for, plus some extra space for signatures...

so a dxf is a far more appealing addition...

and the question that arises is: should the decision be made.. how soon would the development of uch an addition last. I mean when would it be usable eby the end users...?

The printing feature will be available in about 2 to 3 weeks time.

An option is where you can export out the model to a LandXML file. In that way, you will be able to get all of the data into AutoCAD. All of the inverts, pipe diameters, subbasin areas, IDs, etc. However, you need to have either AutoCAD Land Desktop or AutoCAD Civil 3D in order to retrieve this data.

Note that assisting you might be best handled by calling in and talking to me. In that way, we can revise the application to meet your specific requirements. I can be reached at 800-488-4775.
