| Justin Turner, P.E. Arroyo Engineering Tucson, Arizona | | Thank you again for helping me resolve my technical problem. I'm continually amazed at the speed with which you reply to our request for technical assistance. In this case, your reply came within about an hour. Given the ease of use, high quality of your software, user training, and prompt technical support, we will certainly continue to use and upgrade BOSS RMS. As consulting water resources engineers, we find BOSS RMS to be one the most important computational tools we offer to our client base.

| | Cable Murray Engineering Services Inc. Vernal, UT | | The introductory sales presentation given was very informative and helpful. The presentation got right to the point while demonstrating the capabilities of BOSS RMS. The program loaded easily, and automatically attached itself to AutoCAD 2000. The User's Manual is very easy to use with great step-by-step instructions and graphics. I am very impressed with the report output capabilities of BOSS. Technical support has also been great. Chris Maeder has been a great help by responding to my phone calls and e-mail's the same day or the first of the next day. Overall BOSS RMS has been a great tool in helping us with our current project. A real nice change from input files for HEC-2 and more Fortran or DOS based programs. Love it! | Back To Top |

Sean Welch, M.E. Northern Arizona University Flagstaff, AZ | | I want to thank you for the outstanding support you have provided Northern Arizona University (NAU). I have related to you many times what an outstanding product the River Modeling System (RMS) is. As a research entity working with rural watersheds, river hydraulics and stream restoration designs, RMS has demonstrated itself to be an invaluable tool. I recently completed my masters of engineering thesis in which potential stream restoration designs were evaluated. Using the RMS interface with HEC-RAS allowed expeditious iterations of various design alternatives. Working with RMS allowed me to download my survey topography, create a surface/contour map and analyze existing and design hydraulic conditions within one software environment. Thankfully I will never have to enter another GR record again!!! | Back To Top |

Marc C. Johnson Senior Water Resources Engineer FTN Associates, Ltd. Little Rock, AR | | FTN Associates Ltd. gives BOSS RMS (formerly BOSS HEC-2 for AutoCAD) an enthusiastic “two thumbs up.“ We find it to be a valuable tool for creating all types of models— not just HEC-2. In addition to using it for developing HEC-2 models, we use it in developing other models that can utilize HEC-2 type input files to represent riverine, reservoir, and estuary geometry. Our clients for these studies have included the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Corps of Engineers Districts, municipalities, developers, industries, and other consultants. BOSS RMS significantly reduces our time in developing an HEC-2 input file and interpreting its output. Its ability to graphically merge cross section data from two data sources (e.g., topo map and detailed surveys) is one of the features our engineers love. The documentation is thorough and adds a lot more explanation than the Corp's user manual on most topics—great for training new users. When digital contour data is available you get the added benefit of minimizing human error (and lots of time) in picking cross section points from a contour map. RMS’ automated floodplain mapping feature also allows us to easily meet FEMA's requirement that all floodplain maps be submitted in digital format. BOSS International's technical support is also something we appreciate. They know the product and we've never waited for more than fifteen minutes for a return call. We even called late one evening after we had just purchased BOSS RMS and were surprised that someone answered the phone; it turns out we had called in the middle of the BOSS International Christmas party and they still took the time to answer our question! Thanks for providing us with this great tool. | Back To Top |

| | Robert J. Deom, P. Eng. Joe Deom Associates Kahnawake, Quebec Canada | | BOSS RMS for AutoCAD eliminates all the “grunt work“ normally associated with HEC-2: no more arcane data input codes and formats to remember, because BOSS handles it all. Results are interpreted much more quickly and presented in report quality form, immediately. The software paid for itself, on the first two kilometers of waterway, in reduced input and results interpretation costs. Documentation is superb. Telephone assistance is always there, no matter how stupid the question. I am very satisfied with its performance. | Back To Top |

| | David Smith, P.E. WEST Consultants, Inc. San Diego, CA | | As civil engineering consultants specializing in hydraulics, hydrology, and sedimentation, we are faced with challenging and unique problems all the time. A recent project falling into the category of “challenging and unique” was an FEMA floodplain study that changed in scope halfway through the study after we learned that high flows were leaving the system as split flow. The client initially requested the study to be modeled in HEC-RAS, which at the time did not support split flow. HEC-2 supports split flow, but how can HEC-RAS be converted to HEC-2? If it weren’t for BOSS RMS for AutoCAD, this would have been a big problem. Fortunately, I had been using BOSS RMS for AutoCAD from the start of the project. Using the provided digital topography, it was easy to use BOSS RMS for AutoCAD to cut over 60 cross sections. Preferring to work in HEC-RAS, I was able to export this geometry to HEC-RAS and proceed with my modeling. When it came time to consider the flow reduction from split flow, I imported my HEC-RAS model back into BOSS RMS for AutoCAD, then I exported it again to HEC-2. Simple as that! In general we have been very pleased with BOSS products over the years, and found the technical support to be very responsive to our questions. If you are serious about being on the topo-cutting edge, BOSS RMS for AutoCAD is the way to go! | Back To Top |
