...StormNET is definitely the best...

We have found that StormNET is definitely the best overall value in stormwater software. BOSS's Tech support is excellent and dependable. We appreciate that our feedback is often so readily incorporated into the software. They typically upgrade based on our feedback within weeks or months, rather than years as we have seen with other engineering software providers. With others, we often have to struggle through work-a-rounds for much longer before problems are fixed or obviously needed improvements are made. We are pleased to be supporting BOSS International's efforts to develop useful tools for the civil engineering profession, through our purchase of their software products.

This is a great program and I would highly recommend it.

We purchased the StormNET program two year ago and found it made the stormwater analysis of our site development projects very simple and quick. What used to be a tedious process became efficient. We find its features especially convenient, surface slopes, area runoff characteristic, pipe sizes, drainage structure types can all be modified with simple pop-up menus.

Once the base model is set up, the user can analyze the site for 10-year, 25-year and 100 year storms in minutes. The integration with CAD files is one of the top features.

The output file is easy to decipher. The data is well organized all of the input parameters can be given custom names, making the model simple to understand, especially for those who need to review the models. The profile view showing the drainage system is a very useful output features. The colored profile provides a clear picture of the system and make it easy to spot if there were any input errors concerning slopes, inverts, etc.

Combining the programs great features with a fantastic help-support system makes this a very worth while program to purchase. Thank you again for providing such a great support team.

This is a great program and I would highly recommend it.

...I cannot recommend this software enough.

When we were asked to make a testimonial for StormNET, it was difficult to overcome a feeling of protective jealousy in that we would be letting a lot more people into a "secret" that we have discovered.

In realistic terms though, we have been truly amazed at how quickly and easily the software was to use, and use well. Not only was the design better and more efficient than our older methods, but it happened in a much faster way. More over, what really made a huge impact, is our ability to present in animated format, the various scenarios of design and rainfall effects on a network, which has already proven to set a new standard in our reporting.

The support of BOSS International is an integral part of our extreme satisfaction with the software, and the Forum Community which is a major element of this support mechanism. The quoted phrase of "Fanatic Support" belittles in comparison the stated fanaticism of religious book thumpers - without going overboard.

In relation to a Real Case Scenario, we purchased and started using StormNET and within 3 weeks exactly, we had finished a complete design of a relatively complex area (whilst incorporating our own regional IDF tables) for both storm and sanitary drains. We submitted our designs, and in a major engineering coup, we used the pipe profile animations to present to the client the efficiency of our design in the worst case scenarios (TOC of 10 Minutes for a 100 year storm). The animations now are an integral part of our reporting.

I am now a convert, and we are already looking at purchasing other infrastructure Applications from BOSS. Namely WaterNET. If you do not feel like reading my rants above, then simply speaking, I cannot recommend this software enough.

This allows us to design the most economical solution...

I was asked to do a daunting task of having to analyze a hospital's existing 150+ storm water structures. However, using StormNET the project was completed and fully analyzed within a day's work! StormNET's powerful drainage analysis made analyzing the storm drain system so efficient due to its ability to quickly manipulate different models of routing, pipe sizing, storm events and being able to pinpoint problem areas via its graphical interface. Best of all, StormNET has allowed me to compile a detailed tabular drainage report along with visual output for the reviewing agencies! The technical support staff of BOSS are always very helpful and always available!

I look forward to using StormNET on future projects!

...reduced computation time between iterations in our stormwater design...

BOSS International has reduced computation time between iterations in our stormwater design by providing one comprehensive program with options that allow us to evaluate the performance of the entire stormwater network with one mouse click. We previously used three programs to design and evaluate culverts, channels, and basin outlets. The interaction with CAD files adds a degree of realism to our projects by allowing our engineers to insert a background and then digitize areas and lengths at our stations instead of relying on the drafting department for information. It is also comforting to know that knowledgeable, free technical support is available to assist us in getting the most out of the StormNET software.

StormNET software meets my design and analysis needs very well...

I wanted to touch base with you regarding our recent acquisition of StormNET. You may recall I was very frank with you prior to purchasing the software that I was evaluating competitive products, and BOSS International would have to "win" my business! Several factors were considered in my decision, including the company behind the software. In the end, it was the support of the BOSS staff, their earnest desire to address my questions and concerns, which made the decision easy. StormNET software meets my design and analysis needs very well, was more competitively priced, and offered lifetime support for the initial investment price. This reflects what I feel is a strong attitude of "customer care" from BOSS International - an attitude that has been consistent over time. Please share my sincere "Thanks" with the BOSS team, and rest assured that in this time of faceless, on-line interaction genuine customer service still makes a difference!

...Seeing is believing !!!! ...

The biggest difficulty in today's computerized engineering world is "garbage-in garbage-out". With an ever increasing capability and complexity of engineering software it is easy to loose focus on what is really happening within your analyses. Too easy to enter data, push a couple buttons and accept the output. With StormNET, SEEING IS BELIEVING! StormNET is an interactive real-time stormwater and combined system modeling software that gives you the ability to observe systems in full operational mode!

I have generated both stormwater management systems and combined stormwater/sanitary systems with StormNET. I have found it not only to be an easy setup, but the real-time editing allows for visual verification and quick changes. In addition, this program has the diversity to model just about any hydrologic/hydraulic or sanitary system you can think of.

The interaction with CADD and GIS is effortless. StormNET is a very powerful program, but it doesn't tax your operating system!
I am also extremely pleased with the BOSS technical support. Their response time is prompt and they work diligently with you until the problem is solved. In some cases, they will even request a copy of your analysis and evaluate it "in-house" to resolve the problem. The BOSS commitment to costumer satisfaction and software development is relentless. I look forward to using more of the BOSS International products in the near future.

Using StormNET has greatly reduced my time required to complete stormwater design...

The StormNET program is a very complete and effective software package. StormNET contains an interface that is very easy to navigate and provides the user with a vast amount of capabilities regarding the modeling of watersheds, pipe and inlet systems, detention ponds with complex outlet structures, water quality design, and more.

Using StormNET has greatly reduced my time required to complete stormwater design for detailed site development projects primarily because I previously needed several separate programs to accomplish the same task. Now I can explore all aspects of my storm water design within the same program and utilize the animation features to see how my system will function in real time. StormNET also enables me to make any necessary changes and/or model different variations of my design very quickly and effectively.

I am very satisfied with the StormNET program, and think that it offers unparalleled design capabilities at an affordable price when compared to other programs of its kind.

StormNET has allowed us to compile a useful, concise report in a much shorter time frame...

I just wanted to take a moment to drop you a quick note to let you know how pleased we are with the latest StormNET Version. In 2008 we were able to increase our productivity with StormNET by reducing the amount of time it took us to model large and small drainage projects. ...visualization of storm drainage system behavior has been most helpful...

I have not yet been able to work extensively with StormNET, so this testimonial should most likely not be taken as an in depth summary of the effectiveness of this program. However, in my initial use of the program, I have found that the visualization of storm drainage system behavior has been most helpful in adequately designing these systems. I have also used the program to provide verification that a newly installed system will function properly based on constructed conditions. It is a great help to provide local review authorities visual output as well as detailed tabular information so that their review can be conducted more quickly. StormNET's strong point is it's ability to perform pavement drainage design.

StormNET's strong point is it's ability to perform pavement drainage design. The user interface is simple, enabling the engineer to quickly overlay an AutoCAD or orthophoto image file to keep the drainage design and computations consistent. Inlet linkage can keep track of bypass flows and easily display multiple bypass inflows, a task that can be cumbersome via spreadsheets. Often times the design storm for surface drainage varies from that used in the underground storm drain system. With StormNET the engineer can perform pavement drainage analysis with the required design storm, then switch to the storm frequency required for conveyance design providing a more accurate analysis of what actually goes into the system accounting for interception efficiencies experienced at higher runoff amounts. Of course, StormNET is built off the EPA SWMM model and does well for sizing pipes.

Our company is a light manufacturing facilities design/build construction firm. Our main field is in the design and construction of industrial and warehouse buildings. We are also developers for industrial parks here in the México-USA border as well as in central México.

We have designed and built industrial parks using the StormNET software to manage the storm rain water into ponding/retention areas and then percolate the water into the ground. Your software was very useful in doing this work.

Also, thank you for the technical support that we have received since purchasing the StormNET software.

...hydrology features are very beneficial in generating input data for large drainage basin analysis by HEC-RAS.

Part of our core business is urban highway and municipal street reconstruction, which often incorporates the need to evaluate and upgrade the storm drainage system along the streets being upgraded. We had a copy of an older stormwater system analysis and design software that was no longer viable for our work, so we researched the available software to replace the aged software. We looked at the majority of current software packages and selected StormNET because of its features and cost. After we received and began using StormNET, we realized the additional benefit of the product support that is provided with StormNET at no additional cost by BOSS International. Another beneficial feature provided by BOSS International is the availability of program upgrades at no additional cost. The latest version of StormNET has made the package more user friendly and provides much easier and more efficient project setup and input of system data.

Our primary use of StormNET has been the hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage systems, but our use of StormNET not been limited to only storm drainage system hydraulic designs. We have found that the use of StormNET's hydrology features are very beneficial in generating input data for large drainage basin analysis by HEC-RAS.

StormNET by far has exceeded my expectations.

I have used various popular stormwater modeling software programs and evaluated several others before we decided to purchase StormNET. StormNET by far has exceeded my expectations. I appreciate it's ease of use, ability to import my CAD site plan or site photos, and abilities to model complex interconnected pond systems. The free online video tutorials have saved us money and time to quickly and easily learn the software without paying those "extra" fees for offsite training, hotels, meals, and travel costs.

Two of the most recent projects that StormNET helped me accomplish were for 1) curb inlet analysis and 2) a review of a flood study performed by others in XP-SWMM. The curb inlet analysis was performed to help me size four in-line curb inlets on a new roadway to insure that zero flow bypassed the inlets into a high traffic volume highway. The flood study project was one where I was able to import the XP-SWMM model from others into StormNET and check the other firm's work on behalf of our client and I was able to find several design mistakes quickly using this method. I have also used StormNET to model a pond system that outfalls to a tidally influenced marsh and StormNET was able to easily accomplish the task.

I give StormNET's customer service program high marks where other companies pale in comparison. It was well worth the purchase and has aided us on several major projects. I don't recommend anyone buy the software because I don't want my competitors to get the advantage we now have!!!

StormNET has a wide range of tools that have been useful for us in designing and analyzing storm drainage for our projects. I really like the built in tools and information about products such as StormTech chambers that has to be manually input into other software packages. Also, it offers me the flexibility in designing a wide range of channels including multiple types of cross sections for open channel flow that is much more versatile than other software.

Also, the tech support has been excellent. I get quick and professional responses to my questions.

...very useful tool in determining storm runoff from our projects.

I enjoy working with StormNET and found it to be a very useful tool in determining storm runoff from our projects. It removes the laborious calculations that a designer would need to complete in order to size systems properly (although double checking for correctness is a must). StormNET quantifies the results and presents it in a manner easy to read and visualize. This is very useful when drainage reports are produced and submitted to the city for review. If an issue comes up tech support is fast to respond to your question and will continue to help until you thoroughly understand the solution. From start to finish StormNET is an excellent investment and will continue to aide in our designs.

...increase the accuracy...

The simplicity of the Rational Method and complexity of the models in the Northwest are as opposite as you can get. The software allows continuous modeling of multiple storm events and the adaptability to incorporate the standards of the different regions where we work.

The biggest benefit is the ability to link detention ponds to each other through a pipe network, and the speed at which StormNET can calculate those changes. It would take us ages to do it by hand. In seconds, we can change pipe sizing and really fine-tune the model.

Having StormNET allows us to increase the accuracy and precision of the design, and reduce the size of the system because the model is closer to actual needs, saving resources and cost.

We have found StormNET very useful in quickly comparing different scenarios...

StormNET has been a wonderful tool for performing storm sewer analysis and design. The user interface is straight forward and fairly intuitive. For example, we brought in a current ongoing stormwater project during an 8 hour inhouse StormNET training class. By the end of the class, our entire department was comfortable using StormNET for performing storm sewer design and analysis, including channels, pipe flow, and detention basins. Since then, we have used StormNET to confirm older projects, that were originally modeled with other software programs, that needed updating either due to new phases or new development in the watershed. We have found StormNET very useful in quickly comparing different scenarios and varying conditions for design options.

...Very impressed with StormNET...

Very impressed with StormNET and its capabilities. The software is very intuitive and easy to use. Especially pleased to see that you have provided many different methodologies into one package. We use the Rational Method for hydrology and Papadakis Kazan for determining time of concentration on most of our urban storm drain systems in Phoenix, and sure enough, StormNET has that covered. StormNET also provides the capability for doing more complex HEC routing, which is needed for our larger watershed studies.

I like the graphical representation for the storm drain pipe systems with manholes and depiction of hydraulic and energy grade lines. Not only does this provide a quick look at how the overall proposed system will perform and how to provide the most economical design, but it also provides the type of information that we require to be shown on our storm drain construction plans. So that we will always have a record of the storm drain designs that we build (in case the corresponding drainage study booklet gets lost), we always include one overall plan sheet showing the entire proposed storm drain system, along with the Q's, pipe sizes, manhole locations, and hydraulic and energy grade lines. StormNET automatically provides this information.

It is great to see BOSS International coming out with such great and useful software for storm drain design. I am sure that the many design consultants who prepare designs for the City of Phoenix will be anxious to obtain your software.

Thank you.

The programs simplify the entire process...

Both RiverCAD and StormNET are super sophisticated programs capable of analyzing any size watershed or river I've thrown at it. The programs simplify the entire process. The modeler can change design storm with a simple click of the mouse, this saves hours of hand computations. RiverCAD's ability to interface with HEC-RAS, provides the much awaited solution to HEC-RAS slow cross section input method. Dozens of cross sections can be drawn up within hours. An experienced modeler can independently handle long lengths of rivers with ease. Moreover, Chris Meader has been and continues to be a great help in utilizing both StormNET and RiverCAD.
